About

24 Spokes is a grassroots nonprofit organisation founded in 2020 by a group of passionate civil service aspirants. Driven by the belief that firsthand engagement with communities is essential to understanding and addressing societal challenges, these students transitioned from academic preparation to active participation in social development. The name "24 Spokes" draws inspiration from the Ashoka Chakra on the Indian national flag, symbolising the 24 principles of life, such as truth, justice, compassion, and perseverance. Each spoke represents a core value or area of focus, guiding our mission to foster holistic and inclusive community development. Since our inception, we've undertaken a diverse range of initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalised communities and promoting social welfare through Educational Support, Health & Nutrition, Women's Empowerment, Environmental activities, Animal Welfare, Community Engagement, Research and Evaluation.

Our Story

After six months of dedicated discussions, late-night brainstorming sessions, and rigorous testing of our ideas, we were committed to establishing an organisation that embodies transparency, accountability, and sustainability. This dedication culminated in the legal registration of 24 Spokes on 23rd January 2020, under Registration No. 35/2020 under the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act-2002. Building upon three years of consistent and impactful work, we sought to expand our reach and collaborate more effectively with governmental bodies. In 2023, 24 Spokes achieved national recognition by registering on the NITI Aayog's NGO Darpan Portal with Unique ID: AP/2023/0351491, facilitating partnerships between NGOs and the government. This registration enhanced our credibility and opened avenues for greater impact and resource mobilisation. Our journey from a group of passionate students to a nationally recognised NGO reflects our unwavering commitment to societal development and our readiness to scale our initiatives for broader impact.
